Seized Evidence from Drug Dealers in Narcotics Cases Stolen by Police

Who cares, right? To hell with the drug dealers, the goods bought with the proceeds of crime should be used in the fight against crime.

And even if the police used these items, including cars, computers, and expensive televisions, to enrich themselves and their families ... well, they deserve it, right? After all, they're risking their lives out there.

Except one thing. Much of the evidence taken by Gang Strike Force members for their own use was stolen by the dealers or those who sold it to the drug dealers, and could've been returned to the rightful original owners.

That's right, anti gang Strike Force members knowingly stole from the general public, albeit indirectly.

I don't blame the cops individually. You can't give absolute authority to anyone and not expect them to abuse it. That's why we have a government of limited powers in the first place.

It seems that the drug war makes politicians and the general public forget that you can't allow such power to any human being, because it will be inevitably abused.
